Marketing Director

National provider of customized disease management services to large, self-insured employers. Founded in 1999, the company is approximately $30 million in size with 135 people. It serves some of the most admired companies in the world, helping them to reduce health care costs, increase work productivity and improve the health and quality of life for employees, retirees and their families with chronic health conditions.

The Director is responsible for creating and leading all aspects of inbound and outbound marketing from marketing planning and brand strategy to product positioning, launch, and marketing communications. The marketing organization currently includes two staff members and reliance on a network of external partners.

The candidate must bring excellent marketing discipline, encompassing all aspects of the inbound and outbound process and include significant experience in brand strategy and company/product positioning. Part of that strategy must be positioning a company as a thought leader within the sector it competes. Having experience in the healthcare industry, an understanding the payer/provider environment, and exposure to the clinical arena are all preferred. He/she will have been part of a leadership team, working in a very hands-on way to simultaneously enhance strategy and execute on it. The candidate must demonstrate success in driving results in a highly entrepreneurial and lean environment and allocating resources effectively in a way that has direct impact on sales and revenue. The candidate will have experience developing strong working relationships with the sales organization and an intimate understanding of the customer base. The candidate must be adept at managing both internal and external resources to affectively drive to results. Experience being part of a significant culture shift is required.

The candidate must have strong leadership skills that include the ability to guide others through influence, challenge in a constructive way, and take action with little direction. Being highly communicative and collaborative across the organization is essential. He/she will be creative, analytical, and strategic. The candidate must be effective at building trust and be confident without a sense of ego. Working with energy and a sense of urgency yet an aspect of fun are required.

An undergraduate degree is required and an MBA is preferred.
