Our client is an A2LA certified test facility, provides testing and consulting services to the Electronics, Medical Equipment, Automotive, Aerospace, Computer, Telecommunications, Defense and other industries. Facility encompasses over 17,000 sq. ft. of laboratory and office space. Individual temperature/ humidity controlled laboratories for Environmental, Chemical, Materials, Metallurgical, Optical, Electrical and Advanced Instrumentation test and analysis are housed within this facility. The organization is an independent, accredited testing and evaluation laboratory serving diverse industrial, automotive, aerospace and defense, telecommunications, materials and consumer product applications.
The Director, will be a key leader in driving a strategy of continued quality of service delivery and growth. The Director, thru five direct reports, will manage the development, growth, and have full responsibility for profit and loss of this business unit. Leveraging existing customer relationships to drive additional revenue is key, along with developing and securing new customers is also key to this growth strategy. Identifying new business opportunities for the lab location will also be incumbent on the Director.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 to 15 years experience working in a highly entrepreneurial environment. That experience must include providing leadership in an organization that develops quality testing services including electrical, chemical, mechanical and environmental testing. The Director will have strong financial acumen with experience managing profit and loss. A strong understanding of A2LA accreditation and other commercial specifications is required. Demonstrable and verifiable skills in the following areas: Electronic and Electromagnetic Engineering, Monitoring Emerging Technology, Marketing and Sales, Research and Service Development and Program management are desired. The candidate will have led a small staff.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, advanced degrees looked upon with favor.
