Vice President of Marketing

This company is an Internet provider of market analysis for US Stock and Bond market participants.  It has consistently grown 10-20% every year and that growth is expected to continue, if not be even stronger, for the foreseeable future.  It holds an excellent reputation in the industry, has long standing content licensing partnerships, and is in the middle of executing on the well thought out growth plan.  That plan calls for new and targeted product releases as well as expansions into new lines of businesses and markets outside the US.

The VP, Marketing is a key leader in delivering on the strategy, taking responsibility for product marketing and marketing communications.  The VP must build the organization’s marketing capability while simultaneously being a hands-on leader in developing marketing strategies and executing them.  The primary focus over the next year is on direct marketing to drive lead generation as well as building a company and product brand strategy.  This represents the first strategic investment in marketing for the company since its founding in 1994. 

The candidate must have strong product marketing and marketing communications leadership experience as well as be well versed in direct marketing.  Having experience transitioning from more traditional marketing programs 10 years ago to today’s effective methods of integrated marketing is important.  Experience working in larger corporate cultures to gain strong marketing discipline and smaller organizations to be sensitive to the resource constraints is required.  Internet and/or subscription industry experience is helpful.  Finally, the candidate will already live in the Chicagoland area.
